It's on top of a small bookshelf in my bedroom. Buddha meditates infront of four candles, one for each noble truth. I love it.

Thoughs and observations of a college Buddhist as she explores politics, science, women's rights, world culture, and of course, the eight-fold path.

Gorgeous altar!!! I too find great solace and peace with an altar. And the dim-lit effect of candles is so relaxing. I have a statue of Buddha (or course) Avalokiteshvara, an incense bowl and a bamboo plant as well on my altar.
BTW, I love the design of your place here. Nice balance between your background color and font. I'm an artist so I really can appreciate this stuff.
Oh and that last picture is my favorite.
Way to go! I have a small altar with a picture of Buddha because I have yet to find one that speaks to me that I can afford at the moment. I know however I will get there! Your altar has clean, elegant and simple lines to it and really speaks to me.
